Too many seniors and veterans spend their days alone — not because they want to, but because life became expensive, mobility became limited, and opportunities never came or slowly disappeared.

Example Impact:

Mary, 78, is a retired veteran who lost her husband to pancreatic cancer recently. She lives alone and suffers from post traumatic syndromes after the loss of her husband and all their savings due to high hospitalization costs; she hasn’t left her home in months. She spends her days in silence, feeling forgotten, overwhelmed with no one to turn to for hope or love. Simple joys — like laughing, sightseeing, events and culture, enjoying a meal out, or visiting family — seem so far away and impossible. With your help, Mary could join a small group’s outing to a Theme Park to help clear her mind, and meet with new friends. Mary could even receive a small pet to keep her company and cherish, we could also help her reconnect with loved ones, or gift her with a mini vacation to a local Resort, or enjoy a nice meal at a restaurant.

Isolation and financial hardship can be devastating — especially for Seniors and Veterans living alone or on fixed incomes. When even simple joys like dining out, visiting an attraction, or attending a community event become out of reach, life can grow painfully lonely. Over time, that loneliness can lead to depression, anxiety, and despair.

Food and Vacations Seniors Specials, Inc. FAVSS’s mission is to enrich the lives of low-income seniors and veterans in our communities by providing them social, cultural, and joyful experiences that promote their mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

While many organizations address some basic needs; FAVSS focuses on what is often overlooked—the joy of connecting, engaging and making new friends through meaningful food and vacations outings experiences that enhances their quality of life.

Seniors and Veterans, especially those living alone or on fixed incomes are the most vulnerable members of our communities, and often unable to afford simple pleasures like dining out in a restaurant, visiting a museums or going on a small vacation.

These special experiences that we bring to them with your help, while small can be life-changing and bring hope into the lives of so many seniors and Veterans who need it most because they are struggling financially and emotionally in their daily life.

With your help FAVSS can provide the following benefits to seniors and Veterans:

· Dining out experiences to local restaurants,

· Mini-vacations to hotels resorts to enjoy fun amenities not normally available to them,

· Tours to water parks, mini-golf, museums, zoos, and other entertaining facilities,

· Wheels of Hope: providing them low cost vehicles transportation

· Seniors Specials that we collect for them to download on their phone that provide substantial savings on food, clothing, and every day needs from local business members.

No other organization is currently providing these opportunities at scale.

Too many Seniors and Veterans do not have the opportunity to dine in a nice restaurant with friends, or enjoy a mini-vacation in a resort, or purchase treats for themselves to cheer themselves up due to financial hardship and other handicaps, and this is where FAVSS comes in! We create programs to help Seniors and Veterans receive food and vacations specials just for them!

At FAVSS – Food and Vacations Seniors Specials Inc. (a nonprofit Chapter 501(c)(3) we believe that Seniors' and Veterans' lives are to be enjoyed every day and Living La Dolce Vita. FAVSS aims at providing more fun, and memorable food and vacations experiences to seniors and veterans who too often feel isolated and lonely because of the limited affordable opportunities available to them.

How? We strive to offer affordable or donated dining experiences at local restaurants to seniors and veterans,  and mini-vacations donated by resorts, or visits to amusement parks, community events and parties, and Seniors specials at affordable prices.

FAVSS needs partners to help create these unforgettable memories and bring hope and laughter while building new friendships with our seniors and veterans.

By donating or sponsoring dining experiences at your restaurant, or mini-vacations at your resort or spa, or visits to your amusement park, or your zoo, or museum, or by donating a car, or funds to help strengthen our mission; you will help us bring a smile to our local seniors and veterans, and receive community recognition and, or a tax deduction for your good deed.
